Dr. Ramona Eberhardt awarded with the Fraunhofer-Taler

Recognition for extraordinary commitment in research and science management

In honor of her contributions to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Dr. Ramona Eberhardt, Deputy Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering IOF, has been awarded with an honorary award - the Fraunhofer-Taler. The award recognizes her work at the institute as well as her active role in committees and funding programs of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.

Dr. Ramona Eberhardt, Deputy Director of Fraunhofer IOF, was awarded the Fraunhofer-Taler for her many years of commitment to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. The award was presented by Wolfgang Suttner, Director of Management Accounting at Fraunhofer, on behalf of the Executive Board at the Fraunhofer IOF Advisory Board meeting on May 8.

With the Fraunhofer-Taler, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft honors personalities who have rendered outstanding services to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.

 

Driving force since the founding of Fraunhofer IOF

 

Since Fraunhofer IOF was founded in 1992, Dr. Ramona Eberhardt has played a decisive role in shaping the scientific orientation of the institute.

As an outstanding scientist and long-standing head of the Future Technologies department, now the Photonic Quantum Systems department, she has contributed significantly to the development of important research areas. Among other things, she established packaging technology at the institute – a technology field that is now one of Fraunhofer IOF’s main pillars.

Commitment to young researchers

 

Ramona Eberhardt was not only involved in the Fraunhofer IOF but was also active in shaping the entire Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft through her work as an elected representative of the Scientific and Technical Council and as a member of the main commission.

Dr. Eberhardt has actively participated in programs such as »Fraunhofer Talenta« which specifically supports women scientists in applied research, as well as in the selection committee for the » Fraunhofer Attract « program, which promotes the implementation of innovative ideas within Fraunhofer. She made a significant contribution to the continuous quality assurance of these programs. Ramona Eberhardt also played a formative role in structural issues - for example in the introduction of modern working time models such as »Flex Work« at Fraunhofer IOF.

A Role Model in the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft

 

Dr. Ramona Eberhardt can look back on a wide range of achievements within the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and at Fraunhofer IOF in particular. With her long-standing commitment, she is considered a role model by many colleagues.
