The DIN EN ISO 17025 defines the requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. This standard is monitored by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and ensures that laboratories work reliably and accurately. Compliance with this standard strengthens confidence in the performance of laboratories and guarantees the quality of test results.

The Fraunhofer IOF is listed as a testing laboratoryfor fingerprint scanners at the BSI.

DIN EN ISO 9001 is an international standard that helps organizations to optimize their processes and increase customer satisfaction.

The Fraunhofer IOF is a registered TISAX® participant. TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) is a test and exchange mechanism for Informationsecurity in the automotive industry. TISAX helps harmonizing the security standards in the field and minimize risks in working with sensitive information.

DIN EN ISO 50001:2018 International standard for energy management systems

Since 2023, Fraunhofer Institutes are legally obliged to introduce an energy or environmental management system by July 2025. Implementation at Fraunhofer IOF is already being planned, with a certification audit targeted for the third quarter of 2025.

The DIN 50001 is an international standard that helps organizations to improve their energy efficiency. It requires the definition of energy measurements and targets, a documentation of processes and regular internal audits. The standard helps companies to reduce energy costs and optimize their environmental footprint.
