Federal Examining Board for fingerprint scanners

As an independent institution, the Fraunhofer IOF checks the optical quality and function of single-finger, four-finger and full-hand scanner in accordance with the following directives:

  • BSI TR 03104
  • FBI-EBTS Appendix F
  • FBI PIV
  • ISO/IEC FDIS 19794-4:2004(E)

In this respect, the Fraunhofer IOF is an accredited testing agency of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and certified as a testing laboratory in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
